The high rise school building and campus stands on a high pedestal with its sprawling playground has been an inspiration to the learning community. Lion Siddanna Yavagal as its founder Chairman the school was inaugurated by Shri Gopal Reddy, the then Commissioner of HDMC on 22-06-1972. Pertinent to the motto of the Lions "We Serve" Melvin Jones Education Society (named after the founder of Lionism) was constituted to impart overall development and quality education in the media of ENGLISH, KANNADA & HINDI to the children coming from surrounding areas. "Promotion of Education" is one of the main activities of Lionism. M.J.E. Society, besides rendering an unique service in the field of Education has been relentlessly engaged in the promotion of Sports, Drawing, Yoga and various cultural activities. The school also provides Computer Education & digital classes to enrich the knowledge of the students. Lions English Medium School which was started with a bare strength of 70 in KG and 1st Std, in 1972 has now reached a milestone of more than 1000 students, with classes from Cubs to Std. X.
